In January-March 2024, 64.06 tons of dried apricots worth $206,850 were brought into Georgia against 53.73 tons worth $214,590 in the same period of last year.
This year one kg of imported dried apricots costs GEL 8.64 ($3.22), the main importing country is Iran with 46.95 tons which accounts for 73% of the total imports.
The top importing countries and the amount of imports are as follows:
Iran - 46.95 tons worth $152 480
Uzbekistan- 8.08 tons with $14 120
Tajikistan- 7.12 tons with $18 410
Turkey- 1.75 tons with $19 540
Germany- 0.11 tons with GEL 1 640
Greece- 0.05 tons with $670
Note: in the Georgian market one kg of imported dried apricots costs GEL 45-70 that is the product is sold at a 400% markup.
