Everyone envies Georgia, and we envy your 7% economic growth – my God, what a great achievement, coupled with a decreasing state budget deficit and a decreasing national debt. Meeting a Prime Minister with such results is a great honor for us,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said to Irakli Kobakhidze during a joint press conference.

Orbán emphasized that sharing such achievements is of particular importance to Hungary.

We need such meetings more often because it has been a long time since we had the pleasure of hosting a European delegation – I’m talking about the Georgian delegation. Sharing Georgia’s achievements is very important for us because these results represent a huge leap forward. This was probably not easy. It would be a great honor for us Hungarians to have such results. In 2022, when global ‘mainstream liberals’ tried to hinder us and you, preventing governments like the ones we have now, what would have happened? Even today, we have to fight them because the Georgian government is a beast that the EU and Brussels fear to confront. Georgia was the first to resist. This emotion is shared by us. We also want such economic growth, and in time, we will achieve it,” Viktor Orbán stated.

Additionally, according to Orbán, Hungary will implement numerous projects with Georgia because Georgia’s economy is developing positively.

As Orbán noted, the Hungarian airline “Wizz Air” is a leader in Georgia’s aviation market, operating 28 routes from Georgia’s hub, breaking all records, and for the first time in history, its performance has exceeded $100 million.

We have also increased cargo turnover and trade with Georgia. Pharmaceutical products are exported to Georgia from us. We are developing cooperation in the energy sector. We have joint committees and a working group of five countries, through which all five countries are working to bring green electricity produced in the Caucasus to Hungary and, through us, to the EU. Within this project, we have a very good reason to further strengthen and develop energy cooperation. Ukrainians have blocked all channels of energy supply to the EU, making our initiative particularly important under these conditions. Our route will be very strong for economic activity. We will have similar decisions with our Georgian friends in the future. We will implement numerous projects because Georgia’s economy is developing absolutely positively,” Viktor Orbán declared.
