In 2024, the global population of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), or millionaires, grew by 2.6%, while their combined wealth increased by 4.2%. This growth was driven in part by strong equity market performance.

More specifically, the Capgemini Research Institute's World Wealth Report 2025 indicated that the number of HNWIs increased by 2.6% globally, and their wealth grew by 4.2%. The report also highlighted that the US played a significant role in this growth, adding 562,000 millionaires and experiencing a 7.6% increase in its HNWI population, according to 401k Specialist. This growth was largely attributed to a strong US stock market performance. The US also accounted for a substantial portion of the global HNWI wealth growth.
